It doesn't look like much yet...
Apr. 5th, 2009 07:48 pmBut there are signs of spring in my back garden, including visibly sprouting perennials, grape hyacinths and daffodils in bloom (the crocus are already past), and iris greenly spearing up. Oh, and Linnet the cat, who doesn't look as old and decrepit in that picture as he is. Also, a second picture which really doesn't look like much, but is my second clematis, which was planted just last year. After this winter's snow and floods, I was very much afraid it wasn't going to make it, but it did. Which makes me very happy. With any luck it will have its first blooms this year (deep rose-pink, in July).

P.S. Evidently my sense of humor has grown up more than I thought it had. Either that or my memory is faulty, because what was funny when I was fifteen is now just a cross between ridiculous and disgusting. I just turned off Blazing Saddles about fifteen minutes into the DVD. Oh, well, that's the first time I've done that since I got Netflix a year ago and started sprinkling movies I enjoyed when I was younger into my queue. Can't win 'em all.
