a good omen
Jan. 1st, 2009 04:30 pmWatching the fireworks being shot off the Space Needle in Seattle (which used to be billed as the world's tallest Roman candle, but isn't anymore for some reason) on TV last night, my getting-older annual tradition, as I don't want to fight the traffic to see them in person, they went off without a hitch. Unlike last year, when there was a computer glitch and they all but didn't go off at all.
This has to be a good sign for the coming year.
Well, that and the fact that we're actually going to have a president with his heart in the right place. Really, anything Obama accomplishes in the next four years will be gravy after the optimism the election generated. I still can't think about election day without sporting a huge, shit-eating grin on my face.
