Be careful what you wish for...

We've had a fairly calm winter so far. Yes, winter doesn't start astronomically till a week from Sunday, but the kind of weather that is winter in the Pacific Northwest usually starts about halfway between Halloween and Thanksgiving. Only two Pineapple Expresses resulting in one relatively minor (unless it was your house) flooding event, back in November. I made the mistake of grumping about the endless dank grayness over the last week or so.

And guess what? Predicted sixty mph winds for tonight, rain turning to snow overnight, and they're predicting the longest cold snap since 1990 starting tomorrow night.

OTOH, this is the Pacific Northwest, and they don't always get it right, even though predicting storms in this part of the world at this time of the year is a fairly sure bet. On the gripping hand, however, I really don't want to be driving on an ice sandwich for the next week.

Stocked up on batteries and food that doesn't have to be heated this morning. Here we go...
