I'm just devoutly grateful to be able to go into bars and restaurants (dividing a one-room dining area in a restaurant into "smoking" and "non-smoking" is a joke) without getting ill from the tobacco smoke.

I don't know if you'd call it allergic, but it makes me sneeze, my eyes water, and makes it difficult for me to breathe. I hated it back when the smokers would cluster around doors -- here in Washington state, it's been illegal to smoke within 25 feet of a door, window, or ventilation opening in a public building for several years now. I used to hold my breath walking through those clouds of entry way smoke, and would still feel miserable for the rest of the day because of the residual smell on my clothes and hair.

I hated it even more back before indoor smoking was banned in most places. It was impossible to get away from it, period, and there were years when I couldn't remember what it was like to feel good.

Yes, I do things sometimes that are bad for me. But I'm pretty darned sure I don't do things that are bad for other people that they can't get away from...

[takes long, lovely, clean, deep breath]
